THE HEALTH OF THE COMMUNITY
This week, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg made an announcement about the changes that are to come to Facebook users. He stated, “we’ve gotten feedback from our community that public content — posts from businesses, brands and media — is crowding out the personal moments that lead us to connect more with each other.”
Zuck’s concern is aimed at the welfare of the community.
HOW WILL BRANDS AND BUSINESSES ADJUST
With the new Facebook algorithm, user feeds will begin to focus on person-to-person interactions and less on the brands that target them.
So will Facebook’s new focus kill your Business Pages? NO, but in order for brands and businesses to keep in front of audiences, they will need to go back to the essentials because through all of Facebook’s changes, content is still king but quality content will win. The content strategies will have to focus on content that specifically is engaging but most importantly, share-worthy.
Video, Facebook live, and other quality content that engages your groups and communities will be imperative for your Facebook strategies. A healthy dose of paid promotions from the Business Manager platform & Boost platform will be a good beginning as brands get their bearings with the new algorithm.
